Stone Creek 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon reflects the 2002 harvest. The growing season's summer was relatively mild throughout the state, making the grapes mature slowly. Slow ripening enhances the complexity. It was a big crop, and some thinning of the fruit in summer took place. Harvest started late August and early September. The crop showed excellent acid-pH balance at crush.

Tasting Notes

Justin Weibel notes, "Picture perfect cabernet sauvignon grapes. The resulting wine has a velvety texture, and subtle hints of cherry and dark plum, framed by our use of oak barrels, which adds a touch of vanilla and brioche to the finish."

Pairing Suggestions

Stone Creek 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon would gracefully accompany rich dishes such as beef stroganoff, spicy dishes such as chicken mole, and simple dishes such as BBQ pork tenderloin or leg of lamb encrusted with rosemary. Drink now through 2006.
