He remembers his father making wines throughout his childhood. His first taste of wine ever was a sweet vermouth his dad was blending when he was five or six (and to this day does not like the smell of a Manhattan). He guides Weibel Vineyards with the philosophy of creating wines that people will enjoy with food. |

Fred
Weibel, Jr., has been President and CEO of Weibel Family Wine Group
since the early 1970s. He exemplifies the low-key, hardworking
ethics of his grandfather and father, Rudolph and Fred Emile Weibel,
Sr. He is a local leader in his home community of Fremont,
California, where he has been past-president of the Lion's, Rotary,
and Sunrise Clubs. He also donates his plane and skill as a pilot to
"Angel Flight West". "Angel Flight West" is a group of 800 volunteer
pilots in California that give their time and planes to fly medical
emergency patients to hospitals and other medical facilities. It
services eleven Western states.
